Okay y'all, we're going to try this again and on a Friday so that we do not get rained out. I've checked the weather and we should be in the clear, but y'all know Maryland.
This movie night, we're going back to our childhoods! With everything going on (🥴), I believe it's important to get in touch with your inner child and watch something that you know is going to make you smile. But the problem is, I couldn't choose a movie! So we're going to let the universe pick for us.
First up? The reigning champ for good Disney movies -- Lilo and Stitch (2002)! With a live action that dropped a few months ago (that we aren't going to talk about) the film focuses on Lilo, a lonely girl from Hawai'i who adopts Stitch, a genetic experiment of a space alien. Together, they form a close bond and learn about family and love through the Hawai'ian concept of 'ohana'. Heartwarming and chaotic.
The underdog? Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001)! A young linguist named Milo Thatch who joins a group of explorers on a quest to find the legendary lost city of Atlantis. The story follows their adventures as they uncover the mysteries of Atlantis and face challenges along the way and feature the voice of every black girl in our childhood, Cree Summer!
I'm biased. I think Atlantis is top tier Disney and if y'all ain't seen it and it doesn't win the wheel spin, please go watch it. But I am here to please the people, so we will let the wheel of fate decide.
Hope to see you there! ✨
